Designing this book involved a responsibility that transcends the merely graphic: it is about giving visual form to the legacy of Mireya Luis, an essential figure in world sports history. As a work that gathers her achievements and most intimate experiences, the design had to act as a transparent vehicle for emotion.
This project encompassed the comprehensive design of the work, including the visual identity redesign of the "Vidas" collection, establishing a new graphic standard for the series. For the cover, I selected an illustration with energetic strokes to create a direct visual analogy between the plastic expressiveness and Mireya’s intense personality.
Inside, the intention was to capture that same strength through absolute typographic clarity. I chose a structure that allowed the story to be narrated with dignity, resulting in a volume where the text breathes and the illustrations have their own space. The result ensures that the deep human significance of the research reaches the reader with the same clarity and confidence that the protagonist always projected on the court.
